MP10 rust?

Hey so my 20cube nem tank has had some issues for the last month and no amount of reefing power I throw at it helps much. Large water changes make the nems happier for a day or 2 but then back to a sad sad existence. I decided to clean everything today again but never cleaned the mp10 before and noticed the impeller may have rust? Anyone with mp10s know if that’s what I’m looking at and if so then I can probably stop troubleshooting.

Thanks.

Not a crack per say I guess but it’s definitely torn away a bit. And the coloration won’t come off and is very much so rust colored so I’m not sure if this is true stainless or saltwater is just that strong haha

I hope you didn’t soak it in vinegar, or bought it used.and that person cleans with vinegar. But your magnet is done for and it’s going to expand soon.

But if it’s under warranty if you are first owner, email ecotech

Are you talking about the shaft? Looks broken to me (at the base) and a hairline crack spiraling up the top-end? I've been dealing with the same issue. The metal shaft that goes in it has got to be made of something that won't rust; magnesium or something. Some are replacing the ceramic shaft with shrink wrap; thread here.

I've had some coloration accumulate too. Figured it was organics.
