Need help with GEO calcium reactor

alve

I received the Geo 618 Calcium yesterday and looking at the instructions it isn't very clear for someone who never used one before.
All it says is put the media in the reactor but it doesn't say how much. When I search online it says with specifications that it can hold 12lbs.
I have 2 x 8lbs of course CaribSea A.R.M. Calcium Reactor Media and I was wondering if I should put 8lbs or more media in there? With the 8lbs the reactor is about half full.
Once I get to the actual set up I might have more questions :)
Thanks.

Thanks Bryan, that would be great!

When I get home tonight I would like to just have it setup without starting up the CO2. First try to fit it in my stand, fill up the media and just hook up all lines and do a leak test. Then I would like to wait until Sunday to maybe get some pointers from you before turning on any CO2.
Should I just go ahead and fill it with 12lbs before I close it up?

Actually I will just use the 8lbs for now, that should last for a long time since I don't have any big colonies so consumption shouldn't be that much until they grow out.

Let me know what time would work best for you on Sunday Bryan. Thanks again!

I usually eyeball it to about 3/4 full. Need to check with the wife to see if she has anything planned since she has been out of town all week and I will likely be hung over since I am going to the Tiberon Wine Festival on Saturday. Will let you know.

oh yeah pm me you address and number I think I have your number but don't have you address.
