Was this tank a new purchase with a full warranty?
If not, this is a great example and experience as to why I always recommend a new tank rather than a used one.
I do understand the attempt to save money, but loose water is a big problem... especially if you’re a renter
Good luck
May all water be contained!

Interesting opinion from a pro. I always thought this but looked like buying used tanks is a common practice. Saving money makes sense but the cost of the tank itself felt like the smallest expense.

Copy-paste from the other thread's start (I originally had the same question), emphasis mine:

> After over a year out of reef hobby, I decided to come back. After debating with wife about the tank size, we stick with 48” long. I pickup a new CDA 140g the tank (48x24x28” high) yesterday along with a used Trigger 44 sump.

Second hand new. It was still in its original packaging but it wasn't purchased from a dealer
