New fish for my ocean cube! First inhabitants

Meet Captain Hook and TBD (to be decided name).

Went to a well known LFS and fell in love with these guys! Husband picked Captain Hook the one that’s the snowflake or davinchi unsure what type it is exactly. Store sold it as regular. I picked the mocha storm one. Fell in love with how goofy and unique it was. Did a huge 70% water change to get the tank parameters in check before adding them To the tank as it finished its cycle i was told. Tossed in more bacteria as well just in case. Just following what other hobbyist have said to do.

these guys are already paired up and super happy, eating like little piggies and claimed a rock haha. Can’t wait to add more to the tank like a CUC. Was told to wait to add them till I had fish so these have stuff to clean up. How long should I wait to add more stuff? Also in what order?

Welcome. Those are so neat clowns!

for CUC wait until you’re seeing algae appear so they have something to eat. But with two clowns that may take some time, especially if you are careful and feed them instead of feeding them and the tank (ie don’t over feed, they’ll always look hungry so just stick to a schedule).

If you want some suggestions for CUC it’ll help to have some more details on the tank like how many gallons, reefcleaners.com can be a good place to buy a pack but consider buying an undersized pack since the owner doesn’t tend to count and can give you a lot of workers, another reason to wait until you see signs you need a CUC before adding.

Thanks! I have a 24g and plan to do softies and some LPS corals down the road

That clown looks like santa claus. :D what do you feed your clowns? if you see left over food on the sand, maybe get 2 hermit crabs to clean up after the clowns for a start.
Don’t see any food on the sand. I think my flow blows it in the rock work once it kicks back on after feeding honestly
