Couldn't find where I wrote this up before, but a couple years ago I bought a 100gallon tank that belonged to Mr Tubbs years ago. So I don't know how old that makes it, but... It's acrylic and the sides and front are in good shape with few or no scratches visible when it's filled. The top has crazing though. How do you make a judgment on the usability of an old tank?

The only Mr Tubbs I know of is Detective Ricardo "Rico" Tubbs

I suspect your talking about John aka TUBS though (Mr S). I would ask John how old the tank was when he got it. Would you like me to ask him for you? I talk to him from time to time still :D

FWIW the top and seams are the places you don't want crazing, especially the top.

John seems to remember he got it from Bruddah back in 1999 so it may be even older then that if it wasn't new when he got it. That's pretty old for an acrylic tank. Maybe post some pictures of the crazing?
