Otohime food

The fish love it. I'll be putting an order in soon for a good amount of food. Anyone else here ever try it?

Trying it as well. My fish so far are only moderately keen on it. They go nuts on the RN AP still. I might try to not feed the AP for a few days and only the Otomine. Then try both and see if they change their taste preference :p

I doubt fish would eat it over AP Tony :) They get hooked on AP :lol:

what type of food is this? and what's AP? -- btw you guys all feed pellets? I'm trying to get all my fish on pellets and I have no idea how? clowns are eating but the rest ignore it.

do I just keep feeding just pellets until they just start eating it?

No scientific method here, but you can either:

- Mix it in with whatever you're using now until they start to bite
- Just keep feeding pellets until they're so hungry they try it

Are you trying to get off frozen? Usually that's more difficult than going from something like flake.

Gresham I'm just messing around about wanting to get trials of the food =) I usually just buy whatever Ian gets anyway, so it wouldn't sway me anyway.

yeah i'm trying to get them off of frozen. I know it's kinda hard, but right now not much is eating the frozen stuff. they nip and stop eating. my wrasse is sucking it up like crazy though. But i'm hoping to keep them on pellets since it can be somewhat of an all in one.

and i'm hoping using another type of dry pellet food the clowns I have will eat more often and recover. they don't look too healthy, but I think that's due to the stress of the move.

I've called reef nutrition and I'm going to see if I can pick up the food out of their office. they are located in campbell near where I work. I think I can make it happen.

Sorry no will call anymore. There is zero product at the main office. I would suggest trying one of our numerous Bay Area stores. Every single BAR LFS sponsor is an RN dealer :) They won't have Otohime but you could get AquaThrive which is just as good of a feed. You could also have a LFS order the stuff for you and pick it up there to save shipping :)

AP = Arcti-Pods

My fish really dig the AquaThrive btw. I get around the I hate to sin by putting a pinch between my thumb and forefinger and placing it in the tank. It sinks pretty well after that.

Hey Ian, I use this as one of my staple foods for growout. It's a very good product and produces high growth rates, but I do mix it with some other feeds to get the colors to pop. One interesting side note is that I caught a banggai eating it off the surface this morning when feeding ... previously it would only take frozen mysis.
