I love this pump but looks like none of the fittings directly fit the hose of my tank. Is picture #1 how it is supposed to be connected?

Haha, thank you, yes, it looked wrong. I hate everything around plumbing, not sure if I said this previouslyAlex Alex Alex. If you are using soft tubing you should use a barbed connector. I’m not sure what you’ve got going on in these pics but none are correct.
The piece you had around the hose in the pics should screw down on top of the barb and lock it in place - then stick the hose on the barb. Vinyl can come loose over time so I’d use plastic hose clamp of some kind but not that big of a deal really if you get it on there pretty good.
The left one is the right size, but only the right one can be held in place....

Yes and it should fit very snugly. You could glue it I suppose but I never have.Like this - but the top will not be held in place through anything, only the lower part. Is this ok?
Thank you. Looks like this was meant to just to sit on it as @derek_SR mentioned. Pushing it through did not work. Really a bit odd how this was meant to be connected but seems to work well now.Do you have the top part just sitting on it. Maybe if you push the top part through the bottom?
I ended up gluing it in for my varios 2 when I had to do the same. I used PVC cement but I think Oatey All Purpose Cement would be more proper.Thank you.
