Plumbing of a VarioS 2

I love this pump but looks like none of the fittings directly fit the hose of my tank. Is picture #1 how it is supposed to be connected?

Alex Alex Alex. If you are using soft tubing you should use a barbed connector. I’m not sure what you’ve got going on in these pics but none are correct.
Haha, thank you, yes, it looked wrong. I hate everything around plumbing, not sure if I said this previously :).

The smallest barb connector it came with is on picture #2, but it is the weirdest thing as it cannot hold it in place.

The piece you had around the hose in the pics should screw down on top of the barb and lock it in place - then stick the hose on the barb. Vinyl can come loose over time so I’d use plastic hose clamp of some kind but not that big of a deal really if you get it on there pretty good.

The left one is the right size, but only the right one can be held in place....

Thank you. Looks like this was meant to just to sit on it as @derek_SR mentioned. Pushing it through did not work. Really a bit odd how this was meant to be connected but seems to work well now.
I ended up gluing it in for my varios 2 when I had to do the same. I used PVC cement but I think Oatey All Purpose Cement would be more proper.
