PSA: Check your heaters after installing a smart thermostat!

So I noticed after having all the auto-eco settings and away sensing with my smart thermostats for a few days, both tanks dropped down below the safe temperature limits I had set.

Be sure to check that you have enough heater power when you're 10 degrees under what you normally run!

And just in general, any time you set up anything on your controller or smart device, test it. Fail on, fail off, push to high and low ranges and see what it does, etc. No matter how much time and effort you put into designing a controller module intellectually, the true test is… to test it.
So very, VERY true...

This was the home thermostat so we didn't have any data for being away for a few days in the winter, plus I didn't know the auto eco setpoint was 59F.

Yes, Nest default is low as well, quite frustrating that I can't raise it above 45 or below 95 for the "Safety Temperatures" - one of my biggest gripes about nest over ecobee.
Though I have eco set to 65 - 78, the above (Safety Temp) applies if either of those is hit even when the thermostat is off, which it never is.
