Old news to anyone who actually looks this up, but unlike Space Invader Chalice/War Coral etc that are commonly known to sting, I didn’t know just how aggressive Hydnophora was.

It ate 2 frogspawn heads in one night - zombie style.

Range is surprising.

Super cool coral - keep it away from other pieces!!!

I looked up pics since I’ve never heard of that coral. Is it soft like a leather, and the branches consumed the heads of frogspawn? Or does some predator type thing come out of it at night?

It extends pretty long tentacles to eat other coral. YouTube it!

Wow there are some neat time lapse videos of that. Such a interesting behavior, thanks for sharing. hopefully it doesn’t go back for seconds on the frogspawn

Hydnophora is a stony LPS coral. I've had a colony for several years Away from everything. Except a Psammacora is growing right up next to it now and much to my surprise, it looks like the Psammacora is winning.
