OK OK, so a magnetic with a starter is an "HQI" ballast, right?
These are the ballasts I have IceCap, Galaxy and CoralVu (dimmable); electronic and for magnetic hummmmmming things
SLS Blue Wave 7 and PFO for DE bulbs (HQI) both heavy as hell.
I have no way to test the radium (yet) on the different ballasts but if someone wants to coordinate something to test a single 250W radium over a guinea pig tank, has an SLR that can be set manually on a fixed stop/speed/iso it would help a lot. I have a little 37G tank at my brother's place, let's call it the guinea pig tank; the basement has low natural light so it would help since the light would be from the Radium only at time of exposure.
LMK if any interest arises on this; I have the Radium and the different ballasts to test but no equipment to do it. I don't think PAR would have an impact as not to measure it since is for coloration only and my little tank is too shallow ~20" to be checking different depths.
If someone has a deep tank and wants to have the test done on his/her tank, I can gladly take the ballasts/reflector/bulb there.
