I worry about stinking up the house keeping it around that long. You should looking to skimmate locker/collector. I can go weeks without emptying it.
aeughYum!
hmmm… I never ran any antibiotics. Maybe it just never colonized my tank?Actually just cleaned mine - also smelled like garden soil, for the first time. Not unpleasant at all. Normally it reeks. I am curious if the oxolinic acid treatment changed the bacterial profile such that whatever makes the skimmer stink so bad was killed off.
Having a strong spraying faucet makes it pretty easy (2 weeks of skimmate cleaned in 30s):hmmm… I never ran any antibiotics. Maybe it just never colonized my tank?
Reminded of that time I had to pick half-dried skimmate play-dough out of someone’s used skimmer. A customer brought it into the store and I drew the short stick to clean it. It didn’t smell thaaat bad, although i still kept upwind of it at all times

That IS the question…Yeah but what's the ratio.
The added salt in that would have me worried over time. I use salt for weed killer solutions. It does not play nice with plants. I am not sure how much of the skimmate retains salt though.Side bar…
