Got a chance to finally meet the Mr Supra Salty Reefer. He had Pom Pom Gracilaria and was kind enough to share! His Christmas Tree rock is beautiful but unfortunately too big to fit my tank

Another Problem: So excited for CFM but I'm closing deals left and right using up all the money I was prepared to spend at the market..

Are the mollies surviving? Any special process you followed to get them salt acclimated? I've had no luck getting them to acclimate to full salinities.3 Mollies added

All survived! 3 orange mollies 1 black/white Molly
1. Set up 10 gal freshwater
2. Place mollies in fresh water and feed for week (1) to improve health
3. Week (2) slowly increase salinity every few hours until salinity was around 22 ish then I just tossed them into my DT!
I found that white and black lyre tail mollies were much hardier than the orange color. In addition, my first batch (4 black mollies) survived with 1 hr acclimation while my second batch (3 orange mollies) died the next morning after 1 hr acclimation.
To be safe and avoid death, transition period of 2 weeks worked best for me!
Chalice took a beating but I caught it just in time so very confident it will be okay

In my experience, great algae eaters until they learn you feed them. Once they learn that, they basically become crowding fish. You can fix that and get them back on algae if you just starve em out a day or 2…
Even if they don’t eat as much algae as I hoped, the positive is that since they are crowding fish, my mandarins aren’t afraid anymore and are always out!
Quick update: 1 of orange mollies was swimming lethargic, not reacting to food, breathing hard. Tossed that one back into the original tank it came from. Plan to leave it in there another week and go from there
Where are you getting yours from? I have tried the fast acclimation and a slow, week long, acclimation (in a tank feeding them), and not had any success.
I eventually gave up because my wife thought I was preparing to become a serial killer.
This most recent batch is from 6th Ave! I know Aquatic Collection was open to selling their saltwater acclimated mollies in the display tank! White color

Never saw that beautiful sponge. Massive polyps - is it nonphotosynthetic? Why do you have to rehome it?
Australian Spider Sponge! I’m looking to rehome it because my 14g isn’t suited for it’s needs long term. Plus, I’m an amateur hobbiest learning so I’d rather allow someone who is more informed and experienced to keep this lovely specimen

That thing is wild - I looked it up and read that the polyps are a type of parasitic zoa. Hopefully some experienced spongekeepers here.

After having some time with this sponge, focusing on the growth of the sponge has been working for me. The zoas will come with it so I feed when it is closed

- OG Godzilla is looking absolutely fantastic!
- Split the colony of Gonzo Golden Dragon Mushroom and ready to rehome! (Pm if interested)
Bad:
- Dragons Breath Macro has some die off
- Pom Pom Gracilaria has a lot of detritus build up
Possible answers:
- Normal for newly acquired macro to have some die off
- Not enough flow (placed in corners of tank)
- Not enough light (over shading)
If anyone has suggestions, please..
Update: 3rd orange Molly placed back into tank. Having 2 submissive mollies helps because the boss was really picking each apart alone
