Recently i've had a problem with a few chalices receeding. Originally 1 or 2 got stung by favia sweepers and they wiped out about 1/3 of the chalice. Since then I've moved the chalice to safe areas, however I believe both chalices are still receeding slowly and not recoving as I had hoped. The string was about 3 weeks ago and even not that they're safe they still seem to be dying. One of my favorites, a mycedium, has now receeded to a point where the mouths are almost gone. see pic below. Does it make sense to dremel the remaining good portion of it or should I just sit and wait and hope it reverses course?
