If it makes a lot of noises, does that mean this thing is broken? It makes more noise than my external pump.

I have one on my 100G and that thing is dead silent.

When they get gummed up, the can make a lot of noise. You can try the vinegar soak and see if that helps.

Doesn't work it still makes a lot of noises. Suck ... No more used SCWD for me :evil: ...... Have to delay my 29G setup again....

Try contacting 3IQ and see if they're able to replace it for free. I had a prob with mine gumming up and I contacted them about it. They told me to send it back and they replaced it right away. Nothing to lose. Worth a try.

Thanks for the suggestion but this is used. I think it's at least 6 months old. It's not under warranty any more. It's my bad luck. I'm looking for another wave maker device...
