Smart Thermostats safe for your reef?

Any thermostat can fail, smart or not, and both kinds tend to fail 'off' if/when there's a problem.

I have a nest - agree that its "smart" adjustments aren't worth fighting with, but since I let the house get a little cool overnight, it's nice to be able to crank up the heat without getting out of bed when I wake up earlier than usual.

I decided to get nest E thermostats. $50 rebate for each through PG&E, $20 off at Home Depot when you buy two, and $30 veteran discount.

With tax turns out to only be $100 each. Kinda sweet deal.

I have had a gen 1 nest for 5 years. Works flawlessly so far. Can't say that about 90% of my reef equipment
