Successful (so far) Popeye treatment

I had my Klein's butterfly in QT for Ich, and he developed a secondary bacterial infection in his eye. It just balloned out and I thought for sure it was going to burst. I put him in a 5 gal tank and followed the recommendations of the site below.

http://www.aquaworldaquarium.com/treating_marine_fish_for_bacterial%20Diseases.htm

I used Trimethoprin/Sulfadimidine medication for 6 days. I've run out of meds, and his popeye isn't 100% cured, so I may switch to Maracyn-two because I have it and my new order of meds is not here yet.

This is his progress so far:

Thanks all. I really thought I was going to loose him, but he kept eating. So many times they loose their appetite and waste away before the treatment is done. I figure he has a couple more days in QT for popeye, then it is back into QT for Ich! He wasn't done with his ich treatment, but this was more pressing.

BTW, has anyone had problems with Hyposalinity treatments? My little neon goby just blew up. :( I noticed he was in discomfort, but thought it was the copper treatment, so I changed water and added carbon to get rid of it, but the next day he was blown from the inside out. I figure it was the low salinity...

Yeah, his whole midsection blew out. Could see everything. :(

Good job! That's a tough treatment to pull off, trimeth is hell on nitrobacters, shoot it's hell on bacteria in general, kudos to you for being diligent!
