Went out last Sunday to shoot around Potrero Hill / China Basin area with a group of friends (Part of the group I started called San Francisco Bay Area Shooters), here's a few remaining soldiers at the end of our night:
I took the picture by using a remote shutter release, setting my aperture to F22, and having my friends stand as still as possible. Then I took a really bright tactical light and "painted" the letters backwards (which is hard). Took two tries to get it perfect. Of course I'm moving too fast to actually be in the picture, so it worked great. After I painted the letters, I ran behind the camera and then shined the light on their faces and bodies a bit too. It was a for fun shot, but quite interesting. Full size shot can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kinetic/373072796/
While exploring potrero hill, the only really neat shot I took was this oil trail:
So then I moved on and went over to the new UCSF Mission Bay campus and took a few abstract / architecture shots with my fisheye lens:
UCSF Mission Bay campus is FREAKIN amazing I tell ya. Here's an example of what the Community Center lobby looks like from the 2nd floor:
