Too many tanks in my garage. Anyone else into cycling?

Building the stand. Those 3 tanks will be transferred into the ELOS.

Stand complete! I believe it's made of MDF, but seems different and much thicker than other MDF stands I've owned. Not a fan of the open bottom, but it's suppose to help reduce vibration from the return pump.

One last check before bringing it into the house. Don't mind the old 26yr old slow Toyota in the background ;)

Made it onto the stand safely! This tank was very bottom heavy since it has double panels of glass for the bottom.

ELOS Diamond Glass, probably their own rebranded low iron glass.

Custom ClearView Pisces EXO lid arrived, fitment was just so so. The tabs were cut too small so unless it was super carefully placed on top it would fall into the tank.

I was able to hang the EcoTech Marine Multi-Light RMS Track 30.5" with XR717 RMS Hanging Kit last night. It was my first time hanging a rail from the ceiling. Much easier than I thought.

Added some Harbor Freight Anti-fatigue foam mats to the bottom and 42" dog crate plastic pan to catch any water to protect my floor. Also test fitting the ReefMat 1200.

I know I saw the starboard and wondered why no one uses that anymore either? I figured it gives good avalanche protection and reflection of light.

I should put my tank next to my Peloton too!

What's your plan for the tank? Mixed reef?

The starboard is definitely there in case a avalanche happens and I like the white contrast as well. Great view from the rare occasion I use my Peloton lol.

It'll be a mixed reef mainly torches, hammers, and shrooms.

lol unless you head over to Ross... I've found mats for a few bucks.
Ross is great! I’m always in the kitchen aisle looking for what I can use for my tank lol. I’ve found yoga mats are a bit too thin and soft so they compress too much under the weight of the water. These are much thicker at 5/16” and 1/2” and more dense.

Here’s an elos tank story for ya

Wow thanks for sharing! Amazing tank. Never knew Elos made custom tanks. I wonder if it’s still up and running and if it held up to any of the earthquakes we’ve had since 2007.
