Who makes better pumps in your opinion? Or let me rephrase: who makes the best return pumps in your opinion?

Generally agree though, that moving water from the sump to the tank and back does not need such an expensive pump.

I use sicce and eheim for my return pumps currently
Maybe 5 eheims and 20 sicces

@SupraSaltyReefer did you keep circulation going in the sump after you moved all the livestock? Reason I ask is that I see my pH drop pretty fast even during water changes when my return is off with all the rock and media I have in my sump respirating.

Going to pick your brain on having hella tangs and prevent a battle royale.

Tang police aka @Kensington Reefer is going come after me lol. Good thing you have a 10' tank tho.

Easiest route is to add them all at once. It spreads the aggression and it's a new environment for all so theres no established territory yet. For this tank I combined 18 Tangs plus other fish from 3 different tanks.

Quick tips:

1. Add them at night
2. Turn off all lights til next day
3. Have LOTS of flow for oxygen
4. Use a BIG ass mirror on the front panel of the tank
5. Use multiple nori clips. I use the Two Little Fishies VeggieMag
6. Feed nori sprayed with Selcon (vitamins to help with disease resistance) and Brightwell garlic power (entices them to eat)
7. Also feed frozen mysis or live brine shrimp also soaked with Selcon and Garlic Power
8. Add 1-2 Cleaner Wrasses to help manage ich if it shows up. I prefer Cleaner Wrasses over Cleaner Shrimps since they can keep up and swim along side the Tangs.
9. Make sure you have a sufficient UV

If adding a new Tang to an established tank with Tangs, it's best to add at least 2 Tangs at a time. Do all of the above and use a BIG acclimation box for 1-2 weeks. Make sure they are eating, fat and thick before releasing.

When removed the sump and equipment from the Elos I left the fishes in the display tank. Only ran the tank using a ReefWave 45, heater and air stone for oxygen. Kept an eye on ammonia. Was only planning on leaving them like that for 2 days, but it ended up turning into 5 days. Luckily no fatalities. For the 150g stock tank I pretty much did the same.
