I worry about not being around the tank getting too hot. The house could easily get up to 82 if The ac isn’t on.

Lots of folks insulate the door- my tank is in the house, so I don’t use them for that reason- I have the gym set up in the garage. They work very well.

Here they are at Amazon. Home Depot was cheaper I think.

I have multiple tanks in the garage where ambient air can get to 95-100 degrees in there because the sun beats down on it all afternoon. I only have fans on it and it doesn’t hit past 83F.

Fans will do more than you think. Give it a whirl after hooking it up to a temp controller (ranco or Inkbird) or an Apex.

Yup. I’m one of those that did that. Makes a big difference for me.

Does your garage have decent ventilation?

I’m worried about humidity in the garage. Currently it fluctuates between 46% and 58%.

It it starts averaging higher I really might need to consider other options for the tank cause I don’t want to risk mold.

its not horrible, but it’s not awesome. I have been planning to install an exhaust fan with a humidistat so it turns on automatically for a while, but haven’t done so yet. I do open the garage at night sometimes when it feels muggy in there.

I was thinking about a frag tank. If its in the house it needs to have a small footprint. if its in the garage it can be bigger. Interested on boq this turns out and what is needed to keep the temp in control.

Not my best effort at aquascaping but it will do. I think it is finally done. Fish come out of QT in 2 weeks.
