I’m looking to have my UV pump also feed my BRS deluxe reactor with flexible tubing. 3/4” ID tubing currently going from the pump to the UV, 1/2” ID to the reactor. That involves T‘ing it somehow and probably push-fitting a flexible tube into the reactor, which I see you’ve done. What size/type of tubing is that going into the reactor? I have the hard tubing that comes with it but that doesn’t play well with barbed fittings. Regular 1/2” ID tubing doesn’t push fit, so I’m assuming something a little smaller? @Coral reefer?

Well the UV line is all plumbed with 3/4” pvc and the piping for it is 1”OD/3/4”ID tubing and a 3/4” barb slid right inside(with some muscle) and hose clamped it in place. The other side of the T has a barbed reducer which is 3/4” threads and a 1/4” barb to supply the reactor

Thanks, I visited Home Depot and plumbed this up today and it’s working like a charm:

- T with 3/4" female threads
- 3/4" barbed to 3/4” male threads x2 for input and one of the outputs of the T (from the pump and to the UV sterilizer)
- 3/4” threads to 3/8” threads reducer
- 3/8” threads to 3/8” barbed (to the carbon reactor)
- 3/8” ID 1/2” OD vinyl tubing from the barbed output to the push-fit connector ball valve, then on to the push-fit carbon reactor

Nice! Sounds like you found all the pieces. When I got my reactor I didn’t really want to run it off a new pump as my vectra was only running on 4 leds so it had plenty of oomph to spare. I think it’s better that way as it’s one less pump in the system adding heat.

Well after a long debate on what to do with the Aiptasia problem in the display I decided to go with a copper band butterfly. Throwing money at Berghia and having to remove my wrasses in order for that to even remotely stand a chance sounded daunting so I figure I would throw it up to the reef gods and see where I land. The first one I added died overnight from AC but they happily replaced it when they received more and I picked up this little fella. Needles to say within 5 minuets he was picking at all the tiny Aiptasia babies(between dodging my tomini) and after 3 weeks it has seemed my Aiptasia is knocked back by a pretty large margin. She hasn’t touched the larger ones(above 1/2”) but they do seem more receded and less happy overall. Stoked she’s doing well and I hope she keep on doing her thing.

Tank is looking good. The co2 scrubber has been touch and go. I think my massively oversized skimmer may have something to do with it but I’m experimenting and will see what I figure out as the consumption rates of the media are all over the place week to week

Do you feed you anemones?

I used to but haven’t directly fed them in over 6 months now. Everything is fed broadcast style and I do feed heavily so they get their fill that way I suppose. When I fed them constantly I would use LRS nano and the growth/colors were better and the splits happened more frequent but I want a more laid back approach to how I reef now.
