Just wanted to let people know that Theresa’s mom passed away Monday night after an 18 year battle with Alzheimer’s.
Some info on Alzheimer’s:
Over 5 million people in the US have been diagnosed with it.
It is the sixth leading cause of death in the US and among those (Breast Cancer, Prostate Cancer, Heart Disease, Stroke and HIV), it is the only one with increasing numbers of deaths.
It is the only cause of death in the top 10 that has no way to prevent, cure or even slow its progression.
Costs for care of Alzheimer’s patients in the US this year alone will be $200 billion.
Alzheimer’s is a fatal disease and can attack anyone.
