to run a small refugium along with a properly sized Algae Scrubber? I currently run a CW200 Algae scrubber very effectively, but I'm toying with the thought that I'd still like a small refugium primarily as a habitat for pods, etc, but also as a fall back. I realize that the algae in turf scrubbers will out compete macro algae, and may may it impossible to successfully grow chaeto. So as an intellectual exercise -- any way to successfully do this?

What’s the photoperiod for the scrubber? Can you run it less and the fuge more? You don’t need chaeto or macro in a fuge to grow pods if that’s your main goal.

Crushed coral substrate and maybe some rock rubble.
Never used pod hotels but could try that too

What about the marine pure cubes that algae barn sells? I threw in a pile of those in my fuge.
