Generally agree, but I have noticed that LPS with the sharp serrated kind of skeletons can easily have issues with tissue getting sliced during shipping or even transport home from a LFS or a swap.
I’m sure proper packing would reduce issues a lot
Proper packaging definitely almost reduces the risk of tissue ripping to almost 0. Hard containers with a 3d printed stand and the frag plug rubber banded down to the stans so the coral cannot move and bounce on the walls is how I prefer to ship corals.

For me it’s not about whether or not the image was altered, because you have to alter them somewhat just to get them to look right, either automatically within the camera as it’s taking it, with a lens filter, or in post processing. Usually multiple of those.

The question for me is, is it being altered to make the pic look like what the coral looks like in person, or is it being altered to look “better” than it really looks to justify a higher price? The only way to know is to see both the pic and what it looks like in person where the pic is being taken. We don’t get that option for online sales, so you’re left with whether or not you trust the seller. Some are trustworthy and some aren’t. And it can change over time. And people will have different opinions on which is which even for well known vendors. No blanket statement lumping all online sales together is going to work.

What about this blanket statement?
They are all offering things for sale online
I hate this too, waffles, and when they pronounce Bids starting at $1 like it's something special. Just feels like everything is underground market.

This irks me to no end. I’ve had a few experiences where an online retailer wouldn’t show me the coral under white light or show a real photo of the actual coral. I hate the guessing game.
