Our mission

water changes as a coral is dying

Hey all

I was wondering if you guys suggest large and frequent water changes if you have a dying coral. I'm trying to keep my 11:31:11 PM plate alive right now, but I don't have a large volume of SW prepared.

Would small 2% daily changes be ok, or should I let my water run overtime tomorrow?

Thanks,

Mike

Personally, unless something is something very clearly wrong with the water quality that is causing the plate coral to die, I wouldn't do large and frequent water changes -actually, I wouldn't do this anytime, unless something catastrophic happened, because you may end up doing more harm than good.
Always try to keep water quality up though, 2% daily water changes sound pretty good to me; I wish I had the time to do that!

Thanks for the advice Anthony. It's definitely a lot of prep to do daily water changes. I just hope my wife eventually lets me move the rodi unit inside the house.
