Well this sucks

I found this today during my three month cleaning (citric acid). I happened to send out an ICP test a few days ago so the results should be in soon.

What, if anything should I do? Some of zoas have all been melting lately. It’s been hard to watch. Maybe the cause? Everything else is good.

I started with an email to oceans wonders. This was bought new in April.

I don't know how well it works. But I have seen it mentioned for exposed magnets before.

Switch to plastic coated magnets! Epoxy coated ones tend to degrade over time. The resin leeches over a few years.

For epoxy coated magnets, it is recommended to take them out every few months and rinse them with fresh water before adding them back to the tank.

In the mean time, the poly filter will help take out the heavy metals. Some of them also change colors depending on which metals are being removed. Would be curious to hear the results of the ICP test.

Oh man, yeah this might be the reason they were semi closed up. Luckily everything else in the tank looking good

Oceans wonders said they have a lifetime warranty. So they’ll sending a replacement for free.
