What’s an acceptable TDS measurement for aquarium water?

When I started my first tank, my house already had RO water for drinking but no DI so that’s what I used for about a year before upgrading. My tds was in the 20’s that whole time. Is it possible your tds meter could be malfunctioning?

I just got the tds meter, but I guess it’s possible it’s malfunctioning. Should I test it on purified bottled water? Will that give me 0 tds?

No. The moment tds 0 rodi water comes out of the di canister it can rise. Doesn’t necessarily stay at 0.

You could stop by with some of your water and your tester and we can check it against mine.
