When did RC turn into facebook?

Occasionally I peak in over there, look at some forums, and occasionally give some opinions/advice just because (although the time between visits I often forget what threads I posted in :D)... however today I get this email that said on reefcentral someone has requested to become friends with me... through RC (not on FB, not that I have a FB page anyways), doubly so I have no idea who this is, I even looked through old posts of mine he never replied to anything I said.

I mean come on, it's like the southpark episode they just had!
 
whats the point since everyone can see everyones post anyway, I mean on FB if you set your privacy settings, ppl who arnt your friend cant see your posts, info, etc................
