Where to find amphipods and copepods

Hi all,

I purchased Real Reef Rock and used packaged sand for my tank. I guess the nice thing is I don't have any "bad" hitchhikers but I'm also missing all the copepods and amphipods that usually come with "wild" live rock.

Does anyone know where I can buy or find 'pods and other critters?

I got these copepods from Aquatic Collection a couple of days ago.

Most LFS carry one type or another in bottles and bags. You can also find them on Marine Depot, Amazon, etc.

Everyone gets amphipods and copepods. They will come when you buy/trade corals. Even if you dip all your corals you will have amphipods/copepods.

I started with dead rock and dry sand. I have all the typical reef aquarium hitchhikers even though i dipped and inspected all corals.

Best is to get Cheato from established reefs, they're loaded with various copepods and ampipods.

I have a bunch of chaeto algae for free if u wanna come to san mateo

I might take you up on that Ender. Maybe when I pick up the frags. Time to start on my fuge. And maybe some chaeto will pull some of the amphipods away from the corals in the biocube.
