Impressive list - looks like your angels are really angels to leave your corals alone.

How is the A8SE light so far vs. smatfarm? Any problem with the app?

Angels pick. I’m putting in extra coral for them to pick on. Hopefully no damage. Sanjay theory.
As for the A8se. I’m still waiting on more parts to complete the setup. It’s just on an off right now. Color is decent. Dunno if it has a lot of punch. But I don’t run that much whites since I have a lot of natural sunlight. I am a big fan of the smatfarms tho. For such a little low powered light. It puts out.

You got some awesome fish!

Let’s see. What has changed ? I was struggling with something. Sps were dying. Lost a bunch. Did a Icp. It came back heavy metals. Looked all over. Found small pieces of rust in my 55 gallon mixing station. Even tho I have a lid. I do a lot of metal work sometimes. Sparks fly. Anyways. It sucks. But it’s the real aquarium life. Lol. Massive water changes. Like 800 gallons or more over months.
Since then. I’ve just been trying to keep everything flat and stable. Just trying to let everything settle in.
I got rid of my 20 gallon drop down and borrowed a 30 IM from Arnold. My nem is getting too big. She won’t split.
Oh. My nicrew light died and I think I have another one dying. Cheap ballast.
Lots of new frags and colonies. Baby sitting some for boun.
Removed my regal angel. The blueface was giving him a hard time. Since they look similar now.
Add another power head, I’m thinking not enough flow. I’ll probably diy a sea sweep soon. Other than that. Still plugging along.

How you keeping your acrylic clean? Looks great!

Oh here’s something cool. I grow Xenia in my overflow box with natural light. Some people say Xenia removes nitrates and phosphate. Dunno. Just thought it would be cool. View attachment 61410

I grew xenia in sump for years, Xenia consumes more nitrates, you should monitor/look out for nitrates depleted. Also I failed to control it in the sump, it spread to DT and get wild. I scraped it all off my old rocks before moving the rocks to new tank and now it pop up again.

Thanks for the knowledge.

Which heavy metals did the ICP detect? Not sure if rust would be the only explanation. Did you do another test to see if you got them out?

Oh I don’t remember. I don’t do Icp test. Arnold won one at the frag swap. So I bought it. Derek explained it to me. @derek_SR
So that’s where I started. I have the Hanna copper test. That read copper in my water. So I water changed until that read zero. Then did more water changes. Erin @Kensington Reefer told me to run purigen or cuprisorb. He said it’s a good idea to run it once in a while. I agree. The cuprisorb turn blue ? When it’s exhausted. I think. Never know what is really happening in the water.
In my reefing career. Something always happens like this once every 5 years or so.
It’s really good to have a few really skilled friends around you with ideas especially if you can’t think of a game plan.
Yeah I don’t think it said rust. But Derek did say. Heavy metals. So to me. Heavy metals means something is rusting or broken magnet.

I see.

Well it’s been a long time since we ordered from Fiji. Since the ban has been lifted I’ve always wondered if the corals are better. I just received the shipment yesterday. The corals are a little light in color. They don’t have a cites tag on them which is strange. Well here’s some pictures for your enjoyment.
