@svreef mentioned in passing on one of his threads that he bought a peppermint shrimp from AC and it ate all his aptasia. Well, I bought two the other day (one for each tank) and all my aptasia is gone in both my tanks now. So whatever strain they have at AC is the right one!

W00t. Get ‘em while they’re hungry.

Let us know what kind of tank citizens they turn out to be.

And remember that peppermint shrimp and Berghia are usually not compatible (the shrimp eat the Berghia).

All peppermint shrimp is hit or miss. From AC or other LFS you hold the same probability.
When going yhe shrimp route just buy more than 4 and cross your fingers one or more will be a good boy:)

Starve them in a fish trap with only a rock full of aiptasia when you first get them. They'll eat it eventually.

Tend to buy at least 3 or more on every buy. I need them to gang up on the bigger aptasias.

Can confirm the ones at Neptune will too. Was there on Saturday and asked them to place a fat aiptasia from the snail tank in the peppermint shrimp's. After a couple seconds of hesitation, they went to town on it! Took one home and already see a couple of the long term resident aiptasias gone.

I previously kept them manageable with Aiptasia X but found that it's more of a temporary solution to stunt them but always came back.

I used to love peppermint shrimps but now i put them in my do not keep list... at least for any tanks with nems, if you intend on keeping nems.

I've seen them work ovet RFAs pretty good... and damage btas while trying to rob food out of their mouths
