So I did my first water change. I changed 50%. I bought the water from Neptune's. My salinity is now reading 1.022. Isnt that kinda low?

I use those hydrometers back in the early days... refractometers are the only wayvto go.

Just make sure the hinge is free moving and calibrate every now and then... believe it or not, a sticky hinge changes the reading

Btw, Neptune's water is filtered NSW. Used it for years... it's adjusted for calcium and alk.

Only thing to watch out for is during summer month's, the supplier either gets lazy or has always been and the water just gets funky where he pulls from... the water can get funky and introduce slime algae...
