! NEW BUILD ALERT !
Custom 24 x 24 x 8 Ext! 20 Gal

Upgrade was in the works at least within the next 2 years but grateful to have family in the hobby. Looking forward to getting this shallow tank set up! Unexpected but not unwelcome!

The goal is to move livestock in by August 2023 (6 Months of seeding) Rockscape will be a combo of LIVE branch/ rocks that my family has laying around in the cryptic setup. Existing water & Bio Media will be taken from my dads display 150g. Definitely will be ready to go within 2-3 months but no rush to set up so at least 6 months for me :)

Planning to move the Clowns to a 20ext Downstairs.
Love this tank.. But it was short lived. Shutting it back down because NEW TANK ALERT!!!

Bringing home a Innovative Marine 50 AIO :)

New Thread Coming Soon

I run the IM 50 AIO. I love the tank and wouldn't pick any other size (because I can't really go bigger). The footprint is the perfect mix of peninsula tank and standard shape, deep enough to be viewed and scaped for 3 sided viewing, but not obtrusively sticking away from the wall. And best of all it's not a waterbox, so hopefully the water stays on the inside of the tank, and not the floor.

Very slept on! I didn’t even know what dimensions were until yesterday! Tried to look up other builds to see but not much luck. Will be checking out your build

1 YEAR UPDATE

My tank has officially passed the 1 year mark and I wanted to share some of my journey with the tank. Take it for what you will, some might get upset at the parameters fluctuation, Pair of mandarins in a nano tank, or being overly crowded for 6 fish but oh well. I think my tank is thriving and livestock will soon be introduced to their new home! As great as the photos may be, there have been some lessons during this past year. Overall first reefing tank was a success.

Super Heavy on nutrients, but corals honestly look very happy.
Change about 3 gallons of water weekly
Equipment quality and reliability means everything so definitely picking up some new toys for the upgrade

This build was to be as simple as possible to prove to myself you can do it without getting such expensive equipment or needing all that high end stuff. Just throw in a heater, return pump, weekly water changes, filter floss, and its ready to go.

Parameter Swings
Salinity: 33-37
Ph: 7.8-8.3
Nitrate: 30-80
Phosphate:0.54-1.59 (Checked this morning)

Losses along the way:
-Jawbreaker (Bacteria)
-Purple Fire fish (Internal Pest bought from 6th ave too)
- Koji Wada Frag(Power outage )
-Yellow Fiji Leather Frag (Power Outage)
-2 Molly (Bullied from existing remaining Molly)

Last Photos of the corals before the transfer to the 50g! Finally got the aquascape to something I’m content with (probably change in the future)

Hoping to place an order of copepods for the new tank, then start getting livestock in within a week… scared to move everything over just because the tank looks fantastic of course… had to document for the memories

Pm if you’d like some Pom Pom Macro
