Reef Beef reef toothbrush!! Thank you!

I was listening to the recent reef beef podcast. Rich brought up that a fellow beefer had recommended the rubber maid battery operated scrubber. I am a sucker for gadgets and who knows how many products I have bought that did not work out. I have been battling hair algae and recently saw bryopsis in my tank. My plan was to manually remove as much as possible and then try fluconazole.
Needless to say manual removal using a scrub brush is a pain in the butt. When I saw Rich mention this thing I was on the fence, but it was cheap enough. So I said why not. Started using it today. All I can say is this thing rips through algae way better than any brush I have ever used. We’ll see how it holds up over time but I can’t recommend this enough. Thank you Rich and Reed Beef. Maybe you can get rubber maid to sponsor the show. They should rebrand this as the reef toothbrush.

I know there are some pitfalls including spreading algae around. But between manual removal in my filter socks and my plan for fluconazole we’ll see what happens. Check out the video to show how well it scrubs

Its loud but manageable.

I got the item Gerry linked to, with one round toothbrush-like head, and one pointy rubber head. They both work well. The brush one works better for the most part, the rubber one is better for detail work like between coral or in crevices, just because it’s pointy.
