I don't with that specific brand. But I have the red sea nano roller. Seeing your post caused me to do a google search comparison between the two.
Based on my experiences with the red sea one. I would be willing to give the im one a shot Seeing they are supposedly pretty comparable in most ways. The red sea auto rolls based on sensors without you having to select how much it rolls.
Im has option to select how much so gives you some control over how much of the roll you go through based on your specific tank.
If you do get one, I would love to hear your take on it after using it for a while.
Google comparison below.
The Red Sea NanoMat and Innovative Marine (IM) Roller PRO are both excellent, compact, and automated,, motor-driven fleece rollers designed to replace filter socks, reduce nutrient build-up, and provide crystal-clear water in nano/AIO marine tanks. The Red Sea NanoMat is optimized for Red Sea MAX NANO G2/REEFER systems, featuring dual-sensor technology and no Wi-Fi, with rolls lasting ~4 weeks. The IM Roller PRO is specifically engineered to fit all IM NUVO Fusion AIO desktops, featuring a sleek, integrated design with an easy-to-use pull-out tray.
Red Sea NanoMat
Best For: Red Sea tanks (MAX NANO G2, REEFER G2) and general 4-inch sock holders.
Key Features: Automated, processor-controlled, with dual-level sensors (water level/sensor blockage) to stop during feeding/maintenance.
Performance: Uses 50gsm, high-flow, 2.2-inch wide fleece.
Dimensions: ~3.5" x 3.5" x 16.1".
Innovative Marine (IM) Roller PRO
Best For: Innovative Marine NUVO Fusion AIO desktops (e.g., 10, 20, 30L).
Key Features: Specifically designed to fit alongside IM protein skimmers; features an inner pull-out tray for easy roll changes.
Performance: Compact design, automated, 200-micron fleece.
Comparison & Considerations
Fit: The NanoMat fits 4-inch sock holders and is excellent for tight, deep spaces. The IM Roller PRO is tailored for the precise, often narrower, dimensions of IM NUVO tanks.
Functionality: Both are automatic and remove the need for weekly sock cleaning.
Maintenance: Both offer roughly 4-week roll life.
Compatibility: If you have an IM tank, the IM Roller PRO is the direct fit; if you have a Red Sea or general 4-inch, the NanoMat is designed for that, although the NanoMat can sometimes require minor modifications in other brand sumps (e.g., Waterbox 20).
For users with an Innovative Marine tank, the IM Roller PRO is likely the superior choice for a direct, drop-in fit, while the Red Sea NanoMat is exceptional for its refined, dual-sensor automation on compatible systems.
