    Help tangs has developed spots

My thoughts are treat all surviving fish with copper in hospital tanks even if they don't show symptoms. Let all other tanks go fallow for 76+ days at 78 degrees or higher. (Don't forget to occasionally feed the tank.) After the fallow period transfer your fish back into the tanks. Going forward...

How much distance is needed for placing other corals away from this coral?

    Trough ATO

The amount of water that evaporates is irrelevant. It is the percentage that matters. Unless the trough is very shallow compared to the surface area I think a float switch will work fine to control an ato. I set up a small cube with an ato and the float switch appears to sense less than a 1mm...

    Where to start with Hydros

Yes I was basically referring more broadly to the potential overinvestment in these controllers. It appears you have given a great deal of thought in how they will work for you in your system. For some simpler functions as you note, the intelligence has moved into the peripherals. For smaller...

    Where to start with Hydros

I think I bought my apex jr 10 years ago new for like $100. I know my tank is nothing compared to everyone else's but I think all this stuff is nuts. To each their own I guess. I occasionally read about people that have poured thousands of dollars into all these controllers. Unless you are...

    2025 Budget Tank Build Exhibition

So I have been thinking of entering this contest, and perhaps I will. I originally read this as a demonstration that someone completely new to the hobby could put together a system economically to enjoy. With this in mind, if I put together an entry it will be with completely new, commercially...

    Need help, coral dying?

When I checked on 10/21 my nitrates were 5.8 which I assume is reasonable. Phosphate readings are Oct. 20 0.56 and rowaphos introduced Oct. 21 0.28 Oct. 23 0.23 Oct. 26 0.20 I think I'll ride things out for now. If phosphate hits 0.1 I'll turn off the reactor.

    Need help, coral dying?

Yes to both questions. Do you think I should make any changes? For example reverting back to the old lights temporarily, or do you think perhaps I should just wait it out and the corals will probably adjust in time?

    Need help, coral dying?

I have had most of these frags for months in my 90 gallon tank. The lighting was someone dim so I had them very close to the top of the water. I think my par was near 100 where they were, but the lights were weak so I'm not entirely certain. My phosphates were also high, around 0.6 or 0.7ppm...

Need help IDing 3 new corals and their PAR requirements

Thank you everyone. Well I have the low flow covered. The flow may be too low at the moment because there is only a sponge filter in the tank (20 long) right now. Currently the chalice is near 150 par, the blasto probably around 110 to 120, and the favia probably around 130. The tank gets some...

Need help IDing 3 new corals and their PAR requirements

I picked up 3 corals today and was wondering what each of them were called, and was also wondering if anyone know how much PAR (I have a MQ-510 meter) each coral prefers. Thanks! Coral #1: Coral #2: Coral 3:

help: possible disease spreading in fish tank

I don't consider 1.95ppm one day, 2.38ppm the next, and 2.46ppm the next to be a gradual ramp of copper. Thanks for the suggestion of posting on the other sites. I did post on humble.fish also: https://humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/possible-disease-outbreak-2-fish-dead-so-far.20235/
