    Derek's 225g - Stressing over Anemones

I won't be for a long time. The tank is dry and my friend who is staying in the house can let you have it all next time you make the drive.

I still have some in my tank in the bay you can grab too.

    Temperature Survey

I would let it get closer to 80 in the summer and 77 in the winter as the tank was much easier to keep at those temps with the different season temps. I suspect I'll do a similar thing here.

    Derek's 225g - Stressing over Anemones

I have a bunch of baby snails in my system, and I know we had a dbtc of them from others. That is one of the big perks of the crushed coral bottom, larger snails can breed successfully.

Which corals would you never (again) put into your tank?

I am not keeping any paly's or zoas in my new systems because we have a small child in the house and I don't want to play that game of are they or aren't they the toxic ones. Depending on the system, I might consider any monti, soft coral, birdsnest, stylo, or anything else that can spawn...

I NEED HELP FIGURING OUT WHY I CANT KEEP SPS

From a quick read through the thread, I would start with the Ca and MG testing. Keep CA ~350-420 and Mg ~1250-1450. You already are testing alk it seems, but try to keep that stable (8-9). XR15's at 40% should be enough, but maybe try pushing the peak to 60% slowly over 2 weeks. Do you have...

I NEED HELP FIGURING OUT WHY I CANT KEEP SPS

1 year is when things just started to work for me the first go around. Focus on stability. If the lights are at the recommended mounting height and peak at ~75% intensity, you likely have enough light. Use the club par meter when you have a chance, but if you have decent quality lights at...

I NEED HELP FIGURING OUT WHY I CANT KEEP SPS

I agree on the age point. IMO, wait till 18 months and you will see more success if you started with all dry rock. If you want to test to see if the tank is ready, get a few monti, stylo, or birdsnest frags as test pieces. When they stat doing well, your tank is closer to ready.

Electrical wiring for portable inverter generator - will this work or i'm playing russian roulette?

So a dedicated in wall circuit for just the generator?

Electrical wiring for portable inverter generator - will this work or i'm playing russian roulette?

Are you talking about wiring the generator into the wall using a cable like this? I hope I am misunderstanding you because this is not only a bad idea for half a dozen safety reasons for you, but also illegal as it can pump amperage back into the grid while the grid is assumed down. Many...
