I've had a few of them go bad, cheap enough to replace. Check the temp probe cord, if it gets disconnected, the alarm goes off.

I like to dose a very small amount of nitrate every day. Not enough to really bring my nitrate levels up, but enough to make sure I never hit 0.

I have both a CDA and SCA. Build quality is the same, CDA just offers extra add-on's that SCA does not.

I have tons if anyone wants a large colony, as big as you want it.

My reason for dosing is also to keep from bottoming out. If you are keeping your tank nitrates as low as you are, I recommend testing with the Red Sea / Hanna Phosphate ULR method. Easiest way to figure out exactly how low your nitrates are...

I use NeoNitro by Brightwell, but I'm sure there are cheaper ways to make the same product yourself if you are not as lazy as me.
