ATO siphon issue - how to fix?

This is the way. Use both for fail safe reasons. While not likely, if siphon break hole gets clogged, it can siphon. Here's my ATO line.

Featured Lets see the eye candy from the 6/22 swap

Thanks! Maybe next event? Never know, but if it is a horrida, a lot of them that were being sold were just purple/grey with white polyps.

I'm terrible at identifying acro species, but it might be an acropora horrida. I used to see horrida at LFSes more often, but not so much anymore. If anyone has an extra frag they like to share, I'll like a piece.

    Randy’s Flock o' Reef Tanks

For me, it's really isn't about time. There's too many variables to consider. Between pests, swinging parameters from not so good husbandry, equipment failures, bacteria, etc, I'm good if I see it's growing, encrusting and gaining color. Then keeping it alive is possible. Yeah, it could be more...

Frag Tank An update on this mariculture piece. This thing is super hairy. Bright green polyps with a bright hot pink/fuchsia flesh. I've started calling this "The Hairy Pinky" June 24, 2025 Here's a another shot of it with the polyps a little retracted showing the hot pink flesh goes through...

Cotton candy torch - one head less happy than the other

Wow! You guys are clearly reaching and have no clue what you're talking about. Clearly it's that one head is exposed to more CO2 than the other head and has a bubble of localized pH drop surrounding it.

I've seen the two of them on the glass two maybe three times. Rest of the time they're in the sand.

    Randy’s Flock o' Reef Tanks

Ever see a Giant Knobby Creeper? I picked up two of them a month or so ago. They stayed buried in the sand most of the time it seems. Hopefully they're nocturnal and do a lot of work on the sand while I'm sleeping. They look like a big ass cerith...

Grippers are easy to find, been using them for a while. Saltwateraqaurium.com and BRSsells them. https://www.saltwateraquarium.com/32-5-coral-gripper-83-mm-maxspect/?searchid=7564957&search_query=Coral+gripper...

While I get that it's better to be consistent, 5 gallons of rodi water added to 150 gallons isn't gonna do any damage really, especially if it happened over a two week timeframe. Your salinity probably was somewhere between 1.024-1.025 in the end. And if your tank sitter refilled 2 gallons, it...

Fed Rod's food and a bunch of LPS died

This is complete no proof of evidence and internet fodder ;) , but I actually stopped feeding frozen foods a long while ago because vibrio (and most other bacteria) cannot be killed by freezing. So regardless of freezing or having a "cleaner environment" for processing fish, if there is any bad...
