    DIY lid

Yea you’re right. I think this lid was meant more for fresh water fish tanks anyway. Read a couple reviews of people using it on their saltwater tanks and were happy with it. After you guys mentioned magnets then, it dawned on me. Will probably end up going to Home Depot and buying aluminum...

    DIY lid

Ah yes, I don’t know if it was on this forum but I remember someone talking about having issues with their tank and couldn’t figure it out why for the longest time. I believe it ended up being a magnetic algae scraper that had a broken seal and was giving them issues. After they removed it from...

    DIY lid

It’s an Amazon product. If you enlarge the first photo you can see the description and price of the product was 15.99. https://a.co/d/bgMsQLc Cheap and easy to put together. It will be hard to install on rimless tanks though, but it is possible. The reason being is that the magnetic strip is...

    DIY lid

Update- So I ended up visiting @Arvin R a few weeks ago to pick up some corals and view his DIY lid. He was had some extra netting lying around and was kind enough to give it to me. I ended up purchasing a diy magnetic lid from Amazon and used the netting that Arvin gave me instead of the black...

    DIY lid

I like the regular egg kit if I cant get something done soon, thanks @MichaelB. I hope to visit @Arvin R this weekend to look at some frags and his lids. @MarcosD that kit is a lot cheaper than the one I just found on BRS website, looks clean on your tank. Thanks for proving a photo! Thanks for...

    DIY lid

My tank did not come with a lid and I’ve seen my fish bolt to the top. Worried that I’ll find them the next day dried out on the floor. Anyone have any recommendations for DIY lids or a kit they sell to customize to your tank. My tank is a 12x12 I believe.

    Salt Water Noobie

Thank you. Hahaha! I knew what I was getting into. I meant not spending so much on my first tank to make sure I have enough time to care for it properly. Also wanted the a green light from the wifey to dedicate some space for a larger tank.

Hello Bay Area Salt Water community! My name is Juan and I just started my first saltwater tank. I am a fresh water enthusiast and had tanks for the last 15 years. I have always wanted a salt water aquarium but was always intimidated. After looking at aquariums and YouTube videos for the past...
