Featured Tank tour sign up thread

@SupraSaltyReefer maybe you might have thoughts on how we could look into getting something like this as a option or making a tank features a thing. I think there are a few utubers that do things like this I've found intresting.

I'm not really certain what options there are in terms of technology; equipment or something like a zoom call that would make a video tour possible with decent quality.

I haven’t really put much thought into another Tank of the Month thread. We used to have a Tank of the Month but it eventually died down since people get busy and don’t have time to write up a summary of their tank when you can just look at their Tank Journal. Previous post here: TOFTM

As for recording the tank tours I believe we didn’t want to so that it would drive in person attendance to the tour itself.

Virtual tank tours could possibly be considered in the future, but that would take a lot of effort in recording and editing the videos then posting on to YouTube. I don’t think it would really be that beneficial in driving engagement to our BAR website. Usually in the Reef & Chill virtual chats we talk about and show off our tanks anyways so maybe we can have a Tank Spotlight during the Reef & Chill sessions for people that are really interested in members tanks.

Yea I'm totally not implying a whole virtual tour. Only in those cases where someone is kinda isolate by location from other memebers making including them in person tank tour largely impractical ( also not intended to take the place of a in person tour/ social).

However I think pairing it with the reef talk and chill session would be a pretty cool option if it could be added into it x member will show off his step up come join us etc seems simple enough I think.

I wouldn't want to make a chore out of it either like saying this is a monthly feature type thing.

Not everyone updates their journals with regularity. Some not even once or twice a year.

We can definitely chat more on the subject and come up with some workable options.

My tank is only 4 months old, so there’s not much to see yet—mostly just some coral frags and a 'creative' mess of cables. But if you’re down for a tour, come for the food and drinks and stay to roast my cable management! I’m mostly looking forward to the meetup to see what you guys are doing and learn some tips for my own system

Where are you located? That would help with planning when we get more signups.

Consider starting a tank journal and possibly become a supporting member. There is a saying in the club that you support the club and the club supports you back. It's also the best $30 bucks you could ever spend in the hobby my according to my opinion for what's it's worth.

Following the sales pitch.

We would love to meet you at a future event. We have members that are new such as your self to others that have been around the sun a few dozen times. Need advice feel free to ask questions. And making that tank journal would be a great way to show off your system and introduce yourself.
