    Fritz salt help!!!

Very very weird. Just as an FYI, any dissolved solI'd will change the refraction of water...whether it is salt, trace elements, sugar. So, assuming that you physically added the 20 cups to your water, your refractometer would have shown it....so weird indeed. I've been using Fritz for a few...

Most social tangs for community tank (not “prettiest”)

I think it almost goes without saying that everyone's experience is different and that it is anecdotal. Having said that, here is my list of Tangs in a 300g...from most aggressive to least... Yellow Tang is kinda in the middle. Desjardini Sailfin Blonde Naso Yellow Purple Blue Hippo (always...

    Booster pumps.

In the old days, they had large holding tanks on the roofs...NYC is still full of these on top of the old buildings.

    Tangs, Tank dimensions, water volume

This is a good question for the Tang police....of which I am not a member. Anyway, I would tend to agree with others have stated. IME, Tangs do use the whole tank, so the more room you give them, the better. I would also say that 4' long is a good place to start. Tomini Tangs are smaller and...

    Nori recommendation for tang

I get mine from Ranch 99 and just look for what is economical, in bulk, and doesn't have anything added to it. I've been feeding my Tangs this for almost 15 years.

    Hello from Castro Valley!

I didn't realize Bob was completely out...I just figured he was downsizing from his 3 tanks...that's too bad.

    Today I 3D printed…

Wow...what a great idea. I get tired of sliding the screen back everytime I feed my fish

    re-quarantine and Ich advice needed.

If it is indeed Ich, you have a little time to work out a plan. I have first hand experience pulling all my fish out of my 300g and leaving the DT go fallow for 3 months. You only need to pull out the fish. All of your invertebrates are fine in the display. Depending on your rock work, pulling...

Tapatalk Users - BAR Forum is no longer on Tapatalk

I hear ya. There were a couple of strong dissenters at one of our Board meetings last fall. So, in the spirit of supporting all of our members, we postponed the decision. But now the time has come.

Hello, back to the reef, DSB

I used to run 6"+ DSB in my 80g refugium for my 300g. Yes, you have to be careful not disturb it because of the anaerobic zone. It became a PO4 trap, so I ditched it 5+ years ago.

Bags of new sand. Some live some dry

I thought the tank was holding water? Is that not the case anymore?

    My 150 gallon build journey

Love the stand and your detailed write up of it. Your use of a heavy-bodied automotive primer is perfect for this.I've used a similar polyester auto filling primer for kitchen cabinets a gazillion years ago. Worked really well. Will be doing something similar for a garage cabinet build soon.I...
