I was specifically talking about ICP testing for the hobby. Hobby grade test kits are hit and miss depending on what's being tested, but they are the best we've got. The key is to know which ones are somewhat accurate and what their margin of error is before acting on the information.

I disagree. If I'm being realistic I have a very small amount of knowledge developed over 15+ years compared to all the things I don't yet know. Compared to @Coral reefer , @Thales and so many more I'm a piker.

I always have to ask how we know this? Is this just what we have read from anecdotal reports? Has anyone done a study? Has anyone had a tank with both types and had only the wild ones shift?

Yes -- acans can morph to mostly orange. It's not that unusual. I'm not sure if there's less of a chance of that with aqua cultured though. Not sure why it would be different.

If you are running a dedicated SPS tank I am of the opinion that you cant have enough flow and it should be variable if possible. You see the signs of not enough flow already. Growth rates increase drastically with nmore flow.
