    Need help, coral dying?

When I checked on 10/21 my nitrates were 5.8 which I assume is reasonable. Phosphate readings are Oct. 20 0.56 and rowaphos introduced Oct. 21 0.28 Oct. 23 0.23 Oct. 26 0.20 I think I'll ride things out for now. If phosphate hits 0.1 I'll turn off the reactor.

    Need help, coral dying?

Yes to both questions. Do you think I should make any changes? For example reverting back to the old lights temporarily, or do you think perhaps I should just wait it out and the corals will probably adjust in time?

    Need help, coral dying?

I have had most of these frags for months in my 90 gallon tank. The lighting was someone dim so I had them very close to the top of the water. I think my par was near 100 where they were, but the lights were weak so I'm not entirely certain. My phosphates were also high, around 0.6 or 0.7ppm...

Need help IDing 3 new corals and their PAR requirements

Thank you everyone. Well I have the low flow covered. The flow may be too low at the moment because there is only a sponge filter in the tank (20 long) right now. Currently the chalice is near 150 par, the blasto probably around 110 to 120, and the favia probably around 130. The tank gets some...

Need help IDing 3 new corals and their PAR requirements

I picked up 3 corals today and was wondering what each of them were called, and was also wondering if anyone know how much PAR (I have a MQ-510 meter) each coral prefers. Thanks! Coral #1: Coral #2: Coral 3:

help: possible disease spreading in fish tank

I don't consider 1.95ppm one day, 2.38ppm the next, and 2.46ppm the next to be a gradual ramp of copper. Thanks for the suggestion of posting on the other sites. I did post on humble.fish also: https://humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/possible-disease-outbreak-2-fish-dead-so-far.20235/

help: possible disease spreading in fish tank

I have a bottle of methylene blue that has been sitting in my garage for a few years, not sure if it is temperature sensitive like human medications are? I have never dipped a fish in it before. If I go that route, what concentration of methylene blue did you use? Also I started soaking the food...

help: possible disease spreading in fish tank

Okay I need some help and suggestions with how to proceed. Apologies for the long post, just trying to give all background information possible. background: 20 gallon tank, set up for 6+ months, with sponge filter, 5 gallon water change done either every week, or as long as every 3 weeks...

What did you get @ CFM?

Here is a picture of it. It's been in my DT for a day now. After some comments and some reading I'm wondering if I should just stick it in a bucket for week and see if it survives. Though maybe if there are eggs though they could have already dislodged and started circulating in my tank and I'm...

CLOSED!!! Half priced ($4) CFM tickets 01/27

I picked up this frag today at the show. I counted at least 25! what I think may have been flatworms on it. I went through 10 min Coral Rx - 5 min rest in saltwater -> 15 mins in bayer insect killer mix -> 5 min rest, and repeated that cycle a 2nd time. No new pests were spotted in the water on...

    09/10 Member only frag swap

My 9yr old son had me pick up the large live rock with a coral attached on my first turn picking in the donation room. Thanks to whoever advised cutting off the coral with scissors and just dipping that. My son had a blast smashing up the rock and picking through all the brittle stars, worms...

    09/10 Member only frag swap

I had forgotten this is today so haven't signed up yet. I didn't plan ahead so i don't have a clear container big enough for my rose BTA so if I come I probably won't bring anything to swap. Is there space for 1 or 2 more (would it be allowed for me to bring my 9yr old son or is it 18+ only?)

    This Sunday!!!! Fragging workshop 8/20

Thank you everyone who hosted and brought corals! I am looking forward to getting the samples I brought home into my main tank. Can someone share the formula for using the Bayer insect killer dip? How many drops or ounces/milliliters to what volume of saltwater for the dip?

    Automatic Alk testing and controller

Wow. Looks cool but way more then I would want to spend on automatic alkalinity measurement. That pricetag is definitely motivating me to get back to testing/debugging my automatic alkalinity titrator prototype though. Hopefully more companies get products to market and the competition can get...

    Rock structure building

Is there room for one more? I don't have any rock to sculpt at the moment but I would be interested to see marco rock and how others build aquascaping with it. My only previous experience was stacking BRS reef saver rock in my 37 gallon a few years ago. I plan to start a new tank (perhaps a...
