Just looking at your alkalinity, the difference between your low and high is within 1dKH, which I think is pretty good for manual dosing and occasional testing. I think testing at the same time of day would help with consistency, if you aren't already doing that.

Have you tested the natural sea water from Neptune's? I got some awhile back and I tested alk at 7.5 or something (which is natural sea water), not the 10-11 that the sign says. Maybe that's contributing to your lower alk numbers?

    Sponge On Hammer?

I just picked up this hammer from Aquatic Collection and noticed it has this orange sponge like growth on the skeleton. Any idea what it is? It doesn't look like eggs. I'm hoping it's just a regular ol' sponge and hopefully not something like an orange colonial tunicate.

300 Gallon Tank Substrate Media Poll

WWC dudes like it and say the crushed coral is easy to clean with a python: They said one of the cons is if there is an algae breakout it's hard to clean. @robert4025 recommends to not even clean/touch/disturb whatever ends up in the substrate if you use crushed coral.

Flow Questions for experienced acropora keepers

I saw WWC video where a guy pointed his return lines nozzle to the inlet of his powerheads/wavemakers. I always thought that was an interesting idea - the "clean" water gets distributed more, I guess? I don't think that would help if you need more flow though haha!

FREE 24' LPS Growout Contest - Dragon Soul Favia

I noticed these two little white growths on my Dragon Soul Favia. I thought they were pineapple sponges at first but then noticed the hollow tube in the middle. I was thinking they could be feather duster worm tubes with sponge growth on the outside, but I haven’t seen any feather duster poke...

Photo for May. I think I'm going to do side view instead of top down, can see more progress from this angle. Still alive and looking like it's growing down the sides.
