    Need mushrooms!!!

I've got a green bounce colony that I don't really have room for - there's like 10 of them on a rock. DM me and I can take some pictures if you're interested.

    Fauna Marin Salt

On the topic of Salt - I went the other day to buy more from them, but they only carry the Red Sea black bucket which mixes at 12dkh(!) - are that many people using that stuff that it's the only one to carry? 12 seems crazy high.

    Record heat wave- battery fans

I've got a chiller laying around that I'm not using that I'm happy to sell or loan out to supporting member who doesn't have AC this well week. Please don’t (unintentionally) cook your fish!

Jon's S500 Build (The big move)

Yes! They're awesome, I've had them about three weeks now and have done a full acclimation with them. I have the new 110 degree reeflectors in, a bit closer to the water (per recommendation). The tank is real deep, so I needed the balance of not scorching the top corals but still getting light...

Jon's S500 Build (The big move)

Small update here. Things are going extraordinarily well overall. It was becoming more and more apparent that the limiting factor in the tank was my lights. I had a set of Kessil AP9X that were great color-wise but were not putting down the power I needed evenly. One side was not as bright as...

    Sad Filefish

I've had a filefish for about two years now. Loved that ugly guy so much. Always chill and curious. Somehow had a ridiculous personality. My kid named him Pancake. About a week and a half ago I was reaching in to glue down a frag and out of nowhere this idiot comes screaming in and takes a bite...

ATS - "water stream refugium" first impressions

Ten day check-in - algae is growing great so far. I think this could be a great help to those of us who don't have space for a fuge and still want some solid nutrient export. So far no leaks, no compliants, 10/10 product.

    Bees?

Thanks guys - I'm going through all the humane options before I start exploring the others, but ultimately it may be me wearing three hoodies and a couple covid masks climbing up the house with some borax and dish soap.

    Bees?

So a swarm of bees (that I suspect, but can't prove) came from my neighbor's neglected hive descended on my house two days ago and immediately popped into my wood siding, about 25' up the side of my house. I'm trying to do the responsible thing, called the local beekeeper society and they said...

ATS - "water stream refugium" first impressions

Recently I bought a brand new "hang on sump" algae scrubber from an ebay seller based on a handful of random reviews online. I'd heard he had a great return policy so I figured why not. Well was I ever surprised. It's SO well made and well designed. It doesn't feel like someone's garage DIY...

    Klakwasser

@newfly I assume you have an apex or some kind of controller... I don't, but would still like the data points, but trying to figure out the best time to test - approximately what time do you see the steepest drop at night? @Darkxerox - You mind clarifying what you mean that he can replace all...

    Im15 Fusion

IMO fishless is the humane way to do it, subjecting fish to wild ammonia swings is probably not great for them. But honestly unless you have active pest problems in your other tank, you're probably good to add matured rock from there and it'll speed up the cycle a good bit. Right now you're...

Hmm yeah that's definitely be one problem. If you're doing fishless you need a source of ammonia to feed the bacteria for the nitrogen cycle to actually occur. So the tank is likely not cycling at all. Dr. Tim's has ammonia you can buy. https://www.drtimsaquatics.com/products/ammonium-chloride/

Have you been adding ammonia to the tank at all? That looks like a bacterial imbalance of some kind.
