Was it Dong Zou?! I think i recall that as well.

Coralline Algae vs. Urchins & Asterina

Agree on the algae suppression biggie. There are many times over the years when my clean up crew can't take care of what algae is in the tank. While things are good now, that can change at any moment... A few times a year I siphon out a bunch during water changes. It seems like more appear the...

Coralline Algae vs. Urchins & Asterina

I like the asterinas I have and am also enjoying not having to deal with coralline algae. Harlequin are very cool. My long time reefing buddy Pete always kept them so I would get my fix visiting his tank (same with his anemones). What are some drawbacks to not having coralline? I hear people...

Coralline Algae vs. Urchins & Asterina

Curios what y'all think. While I do not seem to have visible typical coralline algae anywhere in my tank, I do have urchins and many many asterina starfish. I used to think- look at me not having to feed alk & cal to coralline algae (pats self on back), its all going to coral instead. But then...

Will do! The purp stylo is wining the race and shading more and more out. Need to do it sooner than later. I would like to share these hammer frags as well. Don't think I am making the swap but can help someone out who needs frags or anyone who just wants a nice hardy hammer in their tank.

Some blue top downs during water change. The way my lighting is setup I don't get to see the tort colors from the front view. Hoping to add more light to the front angling toward the back to help.

    Pressurized kalk reactor

Does this mean vigorously stirring is not the problem? Sorry for all the thinking out loud.lol I can't wrap my head around not having a solution for keeping saturation.

    Pressurized kalk reactor

I was thinking more stirring mixing. A few years ago I heard some people adding zip ties up the shaft of the mix bar. That is pretty crude diy though. I wonder if adding a more permanent paddle (like plane prop) higher up the shaft could help solve the vigorous stirring problem. That I don't...

    Pressurized kalk reactor

Vigorous mixing seems like a solvable problem but like you mention there are other ways to consistent alk delivery. Did you give it another shot after correcting stirring duration?

Have any of you raised brine shrimp? Need advice…

Spiralina? Is there such thing as gut loading brine? the brine carrying the nutrition value in its appealing to the fish body? It was common to gut load feeders when I was breeding reptiles back in the day. I sometimes feed frozen hikari spiralina mysis and brine assuming its gut loaded with...

Porites. I believe it is the tyree- pink polyps with a kinda light blueish silverish base. It started as a thumbnail frag. I left it on the frag plug way too long so it started to bowl out in shape rather than encrust. So I have just let it keep on bowling out. Its still moveable. Maybe size of...

BRS RODI leak + pressure gauge reading 0??

You could try tightening and if that does not work then plan on replacing. I believe you do have to take the canisters off of the frame to get access to the NPT nipples. I took a really quick glance on youtube to see if I could find a video replacing them for you but had no luck wading through...

BRS RODI leak + pressure gauge reading 0??

The plastic pieces that connect each canister to one another tend to crack easily. Maybe that could be causing the leak.
