    HELP!!! in RENO

Any ideas on what is causing the seams to fail on these tanks? Are the seams really that fragile? I'm asking because I have a Red Sea Reefer 250, and wouldn't want my animals to go that way...

    Andrew's Red Sea Reefer 250

Today I measured PAR using the club's Apogee MQ-510. What an awesome perk to being a club member! Below are my measurements running 3x kessil A360X at 65% intensity and 15% color: I think for the most part, numbers seem OK? It's challenging running a mixed reef, I think some of the SPS could...

Picked up this 120 Gal reef-ready Aqueon from Marketplace. I want to spend the long-haul refurbishing it-- any resources/tips are greatly appreciated!

Saw your post on r/ReefTank! Curious to hear about your experience with the new AI blades if you choose to go that route. Are you looking at the 48" fixtures? Given they are each $400, It seems like you could also get 2 radion XR15's for only a little bit more $. I'm definitely intrigued by the...

How do you mix your saltwater?

My water changing setup: 5 gallon bucket Scale to measure 810g of IO reef crystals (mixes to 35 ppt) Wavemaker Heater + Inkbird set to tank temperature I usually let it mix overnight.

    Casey's Red Sea S-1000

I'm running 3 A360X on a 3 foot tank. Not too much shading, still a nice shimmer. Also waiting for the PAR meter to tune intensity :)

Help Me Plan Equipment : IM 40L

I use 2x MP40 on my Red Sea Reefer 250. I run them both on the lowest reef crest setting. I can only keep LPS on the bottom 1/3rd of my 21" tank. I think you'll have too much flow for most LPS on a 13" deep tank. Maybe running 1x MP40 on the back wall would work? Torches seem like they can...

Small flood caused by an adventurous anemone and my overflow pipe.

Not sure how much it will help, but Home Depot rents 1/2 HP air dryers for $30/day. If there is any gap between your stand and floor (any leveling feet or rubber standoffs?) you could probably get it completely dry...

    Andrew's Red Sea Reefer 250

Thanks! Supposedly AcroPower is shelf stable for ~2 years. As a pre-caution, I removed my magnet scraper from the tank, I had been leaving it in continuously. Now I plan to just put it in the water when I need to scrape the glass. I'll check for any corrosion on my impellers and clean my mixing...

I noticed my Jabao doser starting to malfunction. It served me well for 5 years and was very cost effective. Luckily it failed in a way that didn't cause catastrophe. Fairwell Jabao... I decided to replace it with a Red Sea ReefDose + Kamoer X1 PRO 2: I have the ReefDose for calcium...

Got my ICP test results back today. Tin detected at 5ug/L: Slight Potassium, Molybdenum deficiency, elevated lithium: I was really surprised to see elevated levels of Lithium. Apparently this is common with Reef Crystals salt (which I use), but not really harmful at these concentrations...

Tank Quote Feedback for a friend

Here are my thoughts, depending on what type of friend you have: First type of friend: Wants a plug-n-play system, doesn't want to think too hard about equipment, and can afford the high end stuff. My opinion: This seems like a good option, nothing seems crazy marked up (except for the rock...

    Powder coating?

I've used Leon's Powder Coating in San Jose for small stuff before. I had an old road bike frame powder coated. They did a really good job for a pretty reasonable price ($100-$200). Just make sure to tell them what needs to be masked (like threads). This was a few years ago, so prices might...
