I disliked the A150W day 1 for the very strobe look you're referring to. But then after a few days I got used to it. Now I love them. I will say that running multiple units certainly helps even it out.

Roll down to ACE on San Pablo and pick youself up a simple clip on fan, plug it in, and GO! Fans do the job! Do you use one now? If not, you'll be surprised how well they work. Point it right at the water and make sure you're ATO is ready to run.
