I've never had any issues when I've siphoned my sandbed. I did it only in certain places and just some of the top surface so I ended up only getting about 1-2 cups of sand from a 180, hardly enough to make a difference.

I'd also go to the saw- it still may die but it's better than doing nothing which is almost certain death.

I have scraped off a few aptasia and put them into a plastic container in my frag tank. I've seen 1 big one survive just fine in the container. I might have 2-3 more in the container that are still alive. Unforutnately there are more in my big tank to harvest for the container, so I should be...

I've had battles w/ flatworms in my old tank. Never got a wrasse to eath them, at least in noticeable quantities, and the flatworm treatment never got 100% of them. But I supposed as pests go you could have much worse ones if that's any consolation.

Looks good! I like the openness & how you have more space to add stuff or let stuff grow out. how long have you had the hairbrush plants? I've tried 1 of those but it didn't last long in my system.

I'll see if I can scrape some off the rocks they're on and try to get them to attach to a plastic container.
